Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah celebrated Raksha Bandhan in Ahmedabad with girls from his parliamentary constituency who are suffering from Type-1 diabetes.
On the occasion, Shah extended his best wishes to the girls and wished them good health and a bright future.
He also highlighted the government’s initiative to provide lifelong free insulin to children suffering from Type-1 diabetes, which requires insulin injections throughout their lives.
Free Lifelong Insulin For Children With Type-1 Diabetes
Shah highlighted that children suffering from Type-1 diabetes require insulin injections throughout their lives, which can place a significant financial burden on their families.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is providing free insulin for life to all such children.

children aged 0 to 18 years suffering from Type-1 juvenile diabetes in the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency have been ensured the benefits of the initiative under Shah’s leadership and guidance.
Integrated System Set Up For Diabetes Care
An integrated system comprising screening, diagnosis, insulin/treatment, monitoring and follow-up has been established in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency to provide lifelong essential insulin to children suffering from Type-1 diabetes.
Shah said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to public service and compassionate governance.
“For the Modi government, public service is not merely a responsibility but the guiding principle of compassionate governance."
Shah Links Initiative To Health And Security Of Daughters
Shah said that securing the health of daughters is essential for securing the future of families and society.
He said providing free insulin to girls on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan also symbolises the government’s commitment to the protection and health of daughters.
In a post on X, Shah described the initiative as a “visionary" step, noting that several developed nations are also working towards implementing similar measures. He said the initiative reflects the Modi government’s commitment to the principles of “Service, Compassion, and Security."
