A 12-year-old girl, whose father works as the personal assistant of NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Maharashtra’s Baramati on Sunday, police officials said.

The girl was found near her home in the Sainagar area of Rui village in Baramati tehsil. Police said an investigation has been launched and all possible angles are being examined.

The deceased was the daughter of Ajit Dashavatare, who works as Pawar’s personal assistant.

According to sources cited by , the girl had a minor argument with her mother over an issue on Saturday. She reportedly left home in anger following the disagreement and did not return.

Concerned about her whereabouts, the family approached the police and filed a missing person complaint.

The girl’s body was found near her residence on Sunday morning. After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and began an investigation.

The body was subsequently taken to Baramati Government Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The report is expected to provide further details about the circumstances surrounding her death.

“The police have launched an investigation into the case and are examining all possible angles," a senior official said.
